Greene County Coalition Wants To Help The Public Understand The Criminal Court System

The Greene County Coalition Against Domestic Violence is working to clear misunderstandings that many members of the general public have about the criminal justice system. They will be hosting an informational session on Thursday, Sept. 6 at City Hall in Jefferson to help attendees get a better understanding of the necessary steps in navigating through the criminal justice system, the roles of the different people involved in each component, who the people are in those roles and the long-range vision for Greene County. This will also give people the opportunity to meet those who work within the system and join in a panel discussion with local law enforcement officers, a prosecutor and district court and magistrate judges. There is no cost to attend the event that will run from 6:30 p.m. to about 8 p.m.
