Grand Junction Woman Injured In Snow Plow Accident

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a Grand Junction woman was injured in a snow plow accident Sunday evening. At approximately 7:59 p.m., 30-year-old Candice Ortiz was driving a 1989 Ford F150 in the 1600 block of U Avenue when she lost control on the ice- and snow-covered roadway, hitting an Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) plow. Ortiz was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of her injuries. Fifty-seven-year-old Jeffrey Ford of Jefferson, the plow driver, was not injured in the accident. There was an estimated $3,500 in damage to the Ortiz truck and $25,000 in damage to the plow.
