Gov. Reynolds Orders Flags To Half-Staff In Memory Of Texas School Shooting Victims

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all state flags to remain at half-staff into next week to honor those killed and injured in a Friday morning shooting at a high school in Santa Fe, Texas. The governor’s order was issued in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s order to lower all U.S. flags until sunset on Tuesday, May 22. Flags at the State Capitol Building and Capitol complex in Des Moines and public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state will be flown in compliance with the order. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect. Nine students and a teacher were killed in the tragic incident.
