Gov. Reynolds And Senator Grassley Say EPA Administrator’s Resignation Should Be Good For Iowa

Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds, and U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley, both commented on Thursday’s announcement of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Scott Pruitt’s resignation. Gov. Reynolds says this must result in new EPA leadership that will honor the President’s commitment to the Renewable Fuel Standard. “I will continue to fight for a robust Renewable Fuel Standard by working with our federal delegation in Washington, D.C., to hold the administration to that promise. Iowa farmers deserve nothing less,” she adds. Senator Grassley says that President Trump made the right decision. “Administrator Pruitt’s ethical scandals and his undermining of the President’s commitment to biofuels and Midwest farmers were distracting from the agency’s otherwise strong progress to free the nation of burdensome and harmful government regulations,” he says. He goes on to say that through his actions, Pruitt has lost the trust of the American people and he hopes that Acting Administrator, Andrew Wheeler, will use this as an opportunity to restore it.
