Glidden Man Who Wielded Pellet Gun During Dispute Pleads Guilty

A Glidden man, who is accused of wielding a BB handgun during a dispute, has been sentenced to serve time in the Carroll County jail. According to court records, 56-year-old Donald Gene Venteicher’s guilty plea to one count of assault, a simple misdemeanor, was accepted on Monday. In that same order, he was ordered to serve 30 days in the Carroll County jail with all but five days suspended and credit for time served. The charge stems from an incident on Dec. 5 in the 200 block of West 3rd Street. The Carroll Police Department responded to a report that Venteicher had pointed a gun at a female and threw it at the windshield of a vehicle. Law enforcement later determined the firearm he displayed was actually a pellet gun.
