Full Day Of Fun Slated For Raccoon River Appreciation Day, Saturday, June 2

If you haven’t had the chance to explore what the Raccoon River has to offer, you are missing out on some of the area’s best natural entertainment. On Saturday, June 2, everyone is invited to explore on Raccoon River Appreciation Day at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids. From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., there are activities planned for all ages and abilities. Attendees can traverse the river in canoes and kayaks at no charge, take guided horseback and mountain bike rides and hikes, watch a hawk release from SOAR (Saving Our Avian Resources) and then dance by the river to Bob Dorr and the Limestoners. Barrel Smoke BBQ of Templeton will also be selling dinners. Reservations for canoes and kayaks is requested. Walk-ins will be accepted only if boats are available at that time. Details on how to make those reservations and a timeline of events can be found here.
