Fuel Prices Up At The Pump Over The Past Week

Iowans have likely noticed a bump in prices at the fuel pump over the past week. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is reporting that an increase in the crude oil price by $1.79 per barrel has translated into an average increase of four cents or more for retail fuel and about two cents for retail diesel. According to AAA of Iowa, many drivers are now paying $2.45 per gallon on average for gasoline and $2.89 for a gallon of diesel. These prices, however, are still below the national averages on Tuesday of $2.49 per gallon for gasoline and $2.91 for diesel fuel.
