Flooded Grain Could Be Considered Adulterated

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship wants to remind farmers that flood damaged grain could be considered adulterated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Grain that has been classified as adulterated cannot be used as feed or food. As reports continue to come in of flooding along rivers and streams throughout the state, the impact to standing crops is growing. Guidelines have been developed by the FDA to help affected farmers handle their crop properly.
