Final CCSD Superintendent Candidate Interviews Held Thursday

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education is holding formal interviews tomorrow (Thursday) for superintendent applicants. The board narrowed the 22-candidate pool down to three based on application materials, references and initial screening interviews. Dr. Adam Zellmer is currently the Director for Teaching and Learning at the Webster City School District where he oversees the teacher leadership and compensation program. Zellmer has experience in administration as past-principal of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge High School and earned his doctorate degree from the University of South Dakota (USD). Dr. Jesse Ulrich serves as superintendent at the AHSTW School District. He spent part of his career at Dallas Center-Grimes Middle School as the Student Services Coordinator and three years at the Rabiner Treatment Center in Fort Dodge. Ulrich recently earned his doctorate from Iowa State University (ISU). The final candidate, Dr. Kevin Lein, is the Regional Director for Prairie Lakes Area Educational Agency and was previously awarded the Principal of the Year in 2016-17 for his work at the Harrisburg School District in South Dakota. Interviews begin at 11 a.m. under closed session. They will reconvene at 8 p.m. Thursday evening to potentially offer a contract to one of the candidates. A new superintendent is expected to be announced by the end of March to begin leadership of the district on July 1.
