Five decades separated two sets of Kuemper High School Homecoming royalty as they rode through the parade this (Friday) afternoon. Seniors, Zach Daniel and Maci Overmohle, were crowned the 2018 king and queen during Friday’s pep rally in the high school gym. The graduating class of 1968 is celebrating their 50th class reunion this weekend, and R.T. and Judy (Anthofer) Schreck, the king and queen from that graduating class, joined the newly crowned royalty in the celebration. R.T. says seeing a majority of his former classmates come back for homecoming is a testament to the impact the Kuemper school system has on its students.

Daniel and Overmohle both say they were truly surprised when they heard their names announced. They say being crowned royalty was a lot of fun and seeing the class of ’68 and many more make the trip back to Carroll for coronation is just as special.

The Kuemper Knights wrap up homecoming week tonight (Friday) with the varsity football game against the undefeated Greene County Rams. Former Knight and starting defensive tackle for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Sam Brincks, will be honored on the field prior to kickoff.
