ESC Students Return To Same School Buildings Next Week, But Things Could Change In The Next Few Years

Students across the region return to classes one week from today (Thursday) and East Sac County (ESC) Superintendent, Barb Kruthoff, says her staff is more than ready to welcome the kids back. It was a busy summer for administrators and stakeholders. Several community summit meeting were held in Sac City, Wall Lake and Lake View during the break to plan for the future of the district’s physical buildings. Kruthoff says they have received a lot of great input from families and now the decision will fall to the school board.

Nothing beyond your regular maintenance and upkeep will change for the 2018-19 school year, but there may be some big shifts in the future. According to Kruthoff, East Sac is also going to be bringing many new faces to their staff.

Kruthoff notes they were fortunate to start their search for new teachers earlier this usual this year because many districts across the state have had difficulties filling open positions. New teachers started prepping their classrooms as earlier as last week. All staff will be on-hand for the first in-service day of the year on Tuesday, Aug. 21. Kruthoff says it is the favorite time of year for the many people employed at the school.

She adds she hopes the students are just as ready as the teachers. Class begins for the Raiders on Thursday, Aug. 23. For more information, a link to the East Sac County page can be found included below.
