It has been reported that nearly 50 percent of all jobs available in Iowa require workers with middle skills, yet only 33 percent of our workforce possesses them. In their effort to bridge the workforce gap in our area, educators, employers and economic development professionals will be coming together for the Employer Educator Summit in Panora on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Registration is open for the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event. Speakers will showcase the innovative programs being implemented throughout the state and include Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Director, Debi Durham. She will lead a discussion on federal regulations related to hiring youth, local program incentives, a resource and collaboration toolkit and she will present the Workforce Warrior Award.
