Drivers Cautioned That Work Will Begin Today Along Heartland Divide Wind Turbine Site

Motorists can expect to see some work beginning as early as today (Monday) at the Heartland Divide I wind turbine site in Audubon and Guthrie Counties. The slightly more than 24 mile section on 200th Street east of Audubon will be undergoing preparation for NextEra Energy’s wind turbine project with mowing and roadway work. Crews will be on site from now until the project is done, estimated at around Dec. 22 of this year. The wind turbines themselves are not expected to be delivered until the end of October, but the Audubon County Engineer is cautioning drivers there could be a lot of truck traffic from semis and cement and rock haulers on that segment of the road.
