Driver And Passenger Injured In Accident South Of Carroll Friday

Both drivers were cited in a two-vehicle accident Friday south of Carroll. At approximately 5:57 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and 245th Street, the Roselle corner. Upon arrival, they learned that a 1999 Freightliner semi-tractor trailer, driven by 18-year-old Jacob Dean Magner of Glidden was northbound on 71, and slowing to negotiate a left-hand turn onto 245th Street. At the same time, a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina, driven by 47-year-old Kimberly Ann Glover of Stratford, Okla. was southbound on Highway 71. Magner told the deputy that he looked, but did not see the Lumina, and proceeded to make the turn, striking the Glover vehicle. Glover and a passenger, Jedidiah Glover of Exira, were both transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries. Only minor damage was reported to the Freightliner, but the Glover vehicle was declared a total loss. Magner was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn and Glover was issued a citation for failure to provide proof of financial liability.
