Democratic Presidential Hopeful, John Delaney, Celebrates 99th County Visit In Carroll Sunday

John Delaney, a congressman from Maryland and a 2020 presidential candidate, is making his 14th campaign trip to the state this week, including stops in western Iowa. His trip began today (Wednesday) and will run through Sunday, Aug. 12. At the end of this campaign visit, Delaney will have been to all 99 of Iowa’s counties, making him the first Democratic presidential candidate to do so since 2008. His first stop in the region is in Panora on Thursday. Delaney will meet with the Guthrie County Democrats from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at PJ’s Drive-In. Delaney will then travel to Jefferson for an agricultural roundtable discussion with the Greene County Democrats at the Milwaukee Depot from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. On Friday, he will speak at the Iowa State Fair from 11 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and then travel to Clear Lake to participate in the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Surf Ballroom and Museum. Delaney returns to the region on Saturday, Aug. 11 with stops at the Calhoun County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Family Table in Pocahontas from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. On Sunday, Aug. 12, Delany will host a meet and greet with the Sac County Democrats at the Sac Community Rec Center from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.. He will celebrate his 99th-county campaign tour stop that afternoon in Carroll at Pizza Ranch from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. A link to the full schedule of Delaney’s stops can be found included below.
