The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office has released the schedule for the next jail tours. In this third round of public tours, the Carroll County Supervisors, members of the jail committee and staff from the Sheriff’s Office will provide details and answer questions about the condition of the 50+-year-old jail and the impact it has on those employees. These tours are being held routinely and will continue up to the Nov. 6 election, which will include an $8.95 million bond referendum for construction of a new facility. The proposed $16,800 square-foot jail and administrative offices will be constructed on the west side of the Carroll County Courthouse, and is designed to appear as an administrative wing. Those interested in learning more about the current jail and the proposed new structure can join in the tours at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 and again at 7 p.m. that same evening.
