Storm Lake authorities report that a tragedy was averted on Tuesday afternoon when a crop duster in the area struck utility lines. The Storm Lake Pilot Tribune posted the breaking news at about 1:15 p.m. that the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office and local fire departments were responding to the scene. Upon arrival, they learned the pilot was able to recover from the incident and landed safely at the Pocahontas airport.
