The court date for a Carroll woman accused of forgery has been scheduled for just under a month. The jury trial for 39-year-old Letitia Lynn Hightower will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13 in District Court for Carroll County. Hightower entered a not guilty plea to forgery, a class D felony. The charge stems from an incident in December of 2017 where Hightower took a check from the victim’s checkbook, paid for items and used the victim’s signature without their knowledge or consent. The punishment for a class D felony includes up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $7,500.
