Authorities in Storm Lake are warning everyone in the area about the prevalence of counterfeit $100 bills. The forged currency was found in a local business last month, and they say that similar bills in other denominations have been recovered from different locations across the United States over the past two years. It is not hard to spot the fakes as they have Chinese writing in pink or purple on the back side, but if people are not paying attention, they could easily assume the bills are real.
