Officials in Coon Rapids are excited to announce they have launched a new website for the community. The new website, www.coonrapidsiowa.com, went live yesterday (Wednesday) and adds multiple new features and information for residents. Everything from city council meeting agendas and minutes to online registration and local business directories can be found on the revamped page. City Clerk, Jes Leighty, says, “The most exciting part about our new website for me is the ability for families to now register all of their children for the many Parks and Rec youth programs online with credit card payments.” She adds the new system streamlines the process and saves time for parents and guardians. The community identified remodeled website as a top priority for the city during a February 2017 visioning meeting. One of the biggest changes is a focus on a regularly updated community calendar. Residents can add church dinners, community fundraisers, vendor shows and much more to the webpage by contacting City Coordinator, Katie Mason at 712-999-4769 or through email. To celebrate the launch of the new website, the Coon Rapids Development Group is giving away $50 in Coon Bucks in a special drawing. To qualify, citizens just need to review the website and post their favorite thing about it to the Coon Rapids Facebook page.
