It is a light agenda for the Carroll City Council’s regularly scheduled meeting tonight (Monday). The 5:15 p.m. session will happen at an alternate location, however, as they will convene at the Carroll Fire Station on Bella Vista Drive. The meeting will include a proclamation in recognition of the 50th anniversary of Home Rule, which helps protect local governments from the intervention of the state in their operations. The council will then consider a partnership with Trivity Health for the Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program. This is a free fitness program for seniors and provides unlimited access to participating gyms and fitness centers in the network. Weights, treadmills, pools and other amenities are open for their use. The council will then hear about a proposed professional services agreement for the removal of a limited amount of asbestos from both the Farner Government Building and the Commercial Savings Bank site in the library and city hall renovations.
