CCSD Board Hears Second Round Of Scoreboard Presentations

Two more display companies presented at last night’s (Tuesday) Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education meeting. Omaha-based Scorevision was the first company to speak. Regional Territory Manager, John Sanow, says almost any company can provide a quality product, but Scorevision makes theirs more than just a scoreboard.

The Scorevision display is operated by iOS products and, according to Sanow, is “easy enough for a 10 year old to use”. Game day presentations are created and controlled through individual accounts, so Carroll and Kuemper can each manage their graphics separately. Nate Hall, a Scorevision technician and Carroll High grad, also volunteered his time to create intro and hype videos for the Tigers’ first season. Prices vary from $155,000 for a 25 foot by 13 foot board up to $500,000 for a 44 foot by 33 foot display and do not include a sound system or electrical costs. Sanow says it is not uncommon for districts to pay nothing at all through advertising.

A second company, Insane Impact, says their primary market is rentals, and this would be their first scoreboard installation. CEO, Tod Puetz, says their previous work makes them more than qualified for this project.

Puetz says this opens up their board to a far wider range of uses.

Early estimates for a 25 foot by 15 foot screen range between $185,000 and $200,000, not including a speaker system. In January, Daktronics proposed a video and traditional scoreboard combination for $411,000. No decision was made during the meeting, but board members hope to have a company selected by this summer.
