CCSD Begins Preparations For Summer Projects By Approving Bids

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) is already preparing for the end of the school year as they have approved a list of projects to be completed over the break. Superintendent, Rob Cordes, says the estimated total price of these projects is $277,000. Almost half of that cost comes from the second phase of window replacements at the high school, middle school and Adams Elementary.

An additional $40,000 has been allocated to replace the stage in the high school auditorium and refinish and repaint the high school gym floor. Cordes says the gym is long overdue for a touch-up.

Several board members asked if this would cause any issues if the school considered rebranding. Cordes says most logos are no longer painted, and standard practice is to apply an easily replaceable decal. The district also anticipates replacing some damaged concrete at both elementary school locations and work at the softball diamond and bus barn. Cordes says he expects the summer budget to be close to $300,000.

On top of physical improvements, an additional $325,000 has been set aside to for technology improvements across the district. The board voted unanimously to approve all bids presented at that time.
