Catholic Schools Week Highlights Many Gifts, Including That Of Choice

Sunday kicked off National Catholic Schools Week, and Kuemper Catholic School Systems began a little early on Friday with Pride Day and a Chamber Coffee that included a re-reading of a proclamation from Mayor, Dr. Eric Jensen. This year’s theme is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed, and Kuemper President, John Steffes, says there are a wide variety of activities taking place to celebrate this week, culminating with the all-school Mass on Friday morning.

That service is also open to the public with overflow going to the Greteman Center. A reception will follow the 8:30 a.m. Mass. A new digital event is being introduced this year for middle school students.

Mornings with Mom and Donuts with Dad are popular events and will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In addition to Family Feud, Theology Trivia and team building games, a special assembly and a movie day, there is a long-standing competition scheduled at the Holy Spirit gymnasium Monday afternoon.

Steffes says this week is a lot of fun, but it is also a reminder that Catholic Education and that choice is a gift.

A full schedule of the planned activities can be found below.
