Carroll’s City Manager Elected To Serve On State City/County Management Association Board

Carroll’s City Manager has been elected to serve on the Iowa City/County Management Association Board of Directors. The election to seat the eight-member executive board was held during the annual summer conference at Prairie Meadows in Altoona on Thursday, July 12. Pogge-Weaver will sit for a two-year term on the board that currently serves more than 200 members of the association across the state. This organization was formed for the enhancement of the professional development of local government managers and administrators and promotes the exchange of information between its members. Pogge-Weaver was selected by the city council in October of 2016 for the role of City Manager. He came to Carroll from Swift County, Minn., where he had served as County Administrator since early 2013. He brought with him experience as a City Planner in Stillwater, Minn. and Ankeny and with the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Pogge-Weaver earned a bachelor of science degree in community and regional planning and political science from Iowa State University and also holds a master’s degree in public administration from Hamline University. He and his husband, Jonathon, have one daughter, Jane.
