Carroll Woman Charged With Assault After Friday Night Altercation In Vehicle

A Carroll woman has been arrested on assault charges following a physical altercation in a vehicle Friday evening. According to court records, 35-year-old Jennifer Lynn Stricker was a passenger in a vehicle owned and operated by Amanda Rae Allyn, of Little Sioux. At approximately 5:48 p.m., Stricker allegedly became aggravated and began punching and hitting Allyn, resulting in bruising, bite marks and hair pulled from her scalp. Stricker also kicked the front windshield, causing it to break and injuring her foot in the process. Allyn managed to remove her from the vehicle and travelled to Crawford County Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Stricker and a male witness, 41-year-old Matthew Ryan Halsey, of Dow City, continued to walk eastbound along Highway 30 near Arcadia. A Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputy made contact with the pair and later determined a no contact order existed between Stricker and Halsey. Stricker was arrested and transported to the Carroll County jail where she was charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor, and violation of a no contact order, a simple misdemeanor. She remains in custody on a $4,000 bond pending a future court date.
