Carroll Woman Arrested On Public Intoxication And Interference With Official Acts After Refusing To Comply With Officers

A Carroll woman was taken into custody Tuesday evening after refusing to comply with orders from law enforcement. The Carroll Police Department responded to the 500 block of North Court Street at approximately 9 p.m. on a report of an intoxicated female refusing to leave an apartment. When authorities arrived at the scene, the female did leave the residence but declined to provide her identity to the officers. Rather than offer her name, she simple stated, “Medicaid,” and indicated should would provide no more information. The woman, who was later identified as 60-year-old Sheral Louise Coppick, refused requests to submit to a preliminary breath test (PBT) and was arrested for first-offense public intoxication and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors. She was transported to the Carroll County jail and held, pending an appearance before the magistrate.
