Carroll Woman Accused Of Stealing More Than $10,000 From Local Payday Lender Pleads Not Guilty

The trial for a Carroll woman, who allegedly stole more than $10,000 from a local payday lender, has been scheduled for next February. According to Carroll County District Court records, 23-year-old Natasha Ranae Warnke entered a written, not guilty plea on Monday to one count of first-degree theft, a class C felony. Warnke is accused of stealing various sums of money while employed at Check into Cash from April 25, 2016 to Jan. 18 of this year. She allegedly attempted to hide the thefts in July by falsely reporting the money had been stolen out of a vehicle. Warnke waived the right to a speedy trial and is slated to appear before a jury at the Carroll County Courthouse on Feb. 19, 2019. A pretrial conference is scheduled for two weeks prior on Feb. 4. First-degree theft carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
