Carroll Man Sentenced To Prison After His Probation Is Revoked

A Carroll man has been ordered to serve his suspended prison terms following multiple probation violations. A Carroll County District Court judge sentenced 26-year-old Jordan Lee Valencia to up to seven years in the custody of the Iowa Department of Correctional Services. In June of 2017, Valencia was ordered to serve three years on probation after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors on a second-degree theft charge, a class D felony. The Carroll County Attorney’s Office filed a motion earlier this month on June 7 to revoke his probation based on a report indicating a history of drug use and various other violations while on probation. Valencia was sentenced to serve up to five years in prison on the felony theft charge and two years for second-offense possession of a controlled substance. His financial obligations were suspended as Valencia is to be incarcerated and will have no ability to repay court costs and attorney fees.
