Carroll Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Vehicle Burglary

A man accused of trying to take items from vehicles in Carroll has entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. According to court records, 19-year-old Cole Jadon Eischeid of Carroll submitted his written plea Tuesday in District Court for Carroll County on one count of third-degree attempted burglary, a serious misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 1 in the 800 block of Troy Drive. Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Eischeid was seen on video walking up to a vehicle, looking inside and attempting to gain entry. A criminal complaint from the Carroll Police Department notes multiple incidents of vehicles going missing during the night hours in that area have been reported. Eischeid has waived his right to a speedy trial and is scheduled to appear before a jury on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Carroll County Courthouse. A pretrial conference is slated for Thursday, Nov. 15. If found guilty of the charge, Eischeid could serve up to one year in the county jail and be ordered to pay a maximum of $1,875 in fines.
