Carroll Man Formally Charged In District Court For String Of Vehicle Burglaries

Formal charges have been filed in Carroll County District Court against a man accused of stealing from multiple vehicles in Carroll on Oct. 26. Trial information was filed on Thursday, Nov. 14 against 24-year-old Marshawn Shaw for one count of third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor. According to a criminal complaint from the Carroll Police Department, Shaw was captured on video surveillance at approximately 1:03 a.m. on Oct. 26 opening the door of a vehicle parked on 18th Street and taking a pair of sunglasses from inside. The complaint notes that five other car burglaries were reported in the area that same night and mentions numerous burglaries from unlocked cars have been reported in Carroll over the past several months. An arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If convicted, Shaw faces up to two years in prison and $6,250 in fines.
