Carroll Man Charged With Lidderdale Burglary Pleads Not Guilty, Also Faces Charges In Webster County For Stolen Vehicle

A Rockwell City man accused of breaking into a Lidderdale home has entered a not guilty plea to two felony charges in District Court for Carroll County. According to court records, 30 year-old Bradley James Barringer submitted his written pleas Monday, to one count of second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and one count of second-degree theft, a class D felony. The charges stem from an investigation into a reported break-in on Nov. 6 at an occupied structure in the 100 block of W. Central Street. Barringer allegedly stole property exceeding $1,000 in value. Barringer was taken into custody again in Carroll County on separate charges earlier this week. According to the Carroll Police Department, he was arrested after being found in possession of a stolen mini-bike, valued at $750, and breaking into a Carroll business and attempting to pawn the items. A jury trial on the felony charges has been scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at the Carroll County Courthouse. A pretrial conference is slated for the week prior, on Monday, Feb. 11. Barringer also faces two charges in Webster County, first-degree theft, a class C felony, and operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor, for allegedly stealing a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and taking nearly $1,200 from the vehicle’s center console. If found guilty on all counts, he faces a maximum penalty of 27 years in prison and more than $33,000 in fines.
