Carroll Man Booked On Assault Charge For Threatening Violence

A Carroll man was taken into custody last weekend after threatening another man with violence. At approximately 9:38 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, the Carroll Police Department responded to an apartment in the 500 block of North Court Street for the third time that day on reports of a resident yelling and screaming about his neighbors. Upon arrival, officers contacted the suspect, 52-year-old Kelly Dean Warnke, and warned him repeatedly to speak at an appropriate volume. Warnke continue to yell and was subsequently arrested. As he was being transported to the Carroll County jail, he began shouting at a bystander, threatening him with violence and telling him he was going to die. Warnke continued to make threats against his neighbors after being booked on assault and disorderly house charges, both simple misdemeanors. The victim has requested a no contact order be filed against Warnke.
