Carroll Man Arrested Monday In Westside On Multiple Drug Charges

A Carroll man was taken into custody by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Monday, June 25 on an outstanding warrant for multiple drug charges. The warrant for 34-year-old Israel Alvarado’s arrest was issued in August of 2017 on one count of a controlled substance violation, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a serious misdemeanor. The charges stem from a search warrant executed by the Carroll Police Department at his residence in the 500 block of North Grant Road on July 7, 2017. Officers located approximately 62.5 grams of marijuana in four separate bags and two smoking devices containing residue. Alvarado made an initial appearance before the magistrate on Tuesday, June 26. If found guilty of the charges, he faces up to 5 years in prison and $9,375 in fines. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 19 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
