Carroll Hy-Vee Employee Recognized With 2018 Legendary Customer Service Award

A longtime Carroll Hy-Vee employee was recognized Thursday morning for her outstanding commitment to customers with the 2018 Legendary Customer Service Award. Katie Dozler was caught by surprise when she walked into the store to see dozens of her fellow employees, customers and representatives from Hy-Vee’s corporate office. The award is given to employees who go above and beyond in caring for their clients. Before presenting the award, Store Director, Brad Auge, shared one of many stories on why Dozler deserved the honor.

He added she also refused any type of payment for helping. While addressing the crowd, Dozler said that every person has their own private struggles, and she made it her goal for everybody she encounters to leave happier.

Dozler thanked everybody for being there and said it was incredible there was an award for just being a good person.

Hy-Vee employees more than 80,000 people, and Dozler was one of only nine recognized with the award. In addition to the honor, she also received invitations to an award dinner in West Des Moines in October and the Hy-Vee Stockholders Meeting in December. Dozler will also be recognized on a daily basis with a special golden name-tag and commemorative ring that designates her as a 2018 Legendary Customer Service Award winner, and her picture will be placed on one of Hy-Vee’s shipping trailers. Her colleagues at the Carroll Hy-Vee also chipped in to provide a certificate to Dozler to purchase airline tickets for a well-deserved vacation.
