The Carroll Fire Department was on scene and on standby Wednesday morning for a reported gas leak. Chief, Greg Schreck, says that at approximately 9 a.m. they were called to the intersection of 3rd Street and Highway 71 on the report of a ruptured gas line. A utility boring company had struck the line, causing the break. No fire was reported and a crew from Alliant Energy was able to stop the leak and repair the line.
