Carroll County Shooting Club Places At State Competition

Members of the Carroll County Shooting Club participated in the 2018 Scholastic Action Shooting Program state competition. On June 2 and June 3, at the Izaak Walton League in Elkhart, teams from around Iowa shot at a series of steel targets, and those completing the challenge in the least amount of time earned top spots. Participants competed with five different types of guns, an optics rifle (OR), an iron rifle (IR), a centerfire pistol (CP), a rimfire pistol (RP) or a 1911 model pistol. Carroll County Shooting Sports Senior placed in three different categories: rimfire pistol, senior division; rimfire pistol, non-collegiate open; and iron rifle, senior division. Two different intermediate teams placed in five categories: intermediate teams one and two in optics rifle, intermediate division; and intermediate team one in optics rifle, non-collegiate open; iron rifle, intermediate division; and iron rifle, non-collegiate open.
