This coming Friday, residents from throughout Carroll County are invited to attend a public town hall meeting to learn more about the plans for a new Carroll County jail. County representatives and members of the Carroll Jail Committee will be available to answer questions and share renderings of the proposed 16,800 square-foot, three-story, $8.95 million facility that will be built on the west parking lot of the Carroll County Courthouse. Many people have voiced their support or opposition to this plan in local and social media outlets, but to be a truly informed voter on Tuesday, Nov. 6, everyone is encouraged to see and hear for themselves the need, the reasoning and the research that has gone into the proposal development. The town hall meeting will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5 at the Carroll Rec Center auditorium, and coffee will be served. For those unable to attend this meeting, they can see the presentation and tour the current facilities by taking part in one of the jail tours scheduled to take place right up until election day.
