Carroll City Council Will Be Forced To Delay To Public Hearings At Monday’s Council Meeting

The City of Carroll had published notification that two public hearings would be held Monday night, but the council will now have to delay both. On Thursday, July 19, City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, sent out a memorandum stating that a cost estimate for the library/city hall project was to have been completed and presented at this meeting. Specifically, on the plans, specifications and form of contract for both the Carroll Public Library and the Carroll City Hall. The firm, Stecker-Harmsen, had been contracted to perform the work, but did not have it completed as of Tuesday morning.

The process now will involve the opening of the public meetings and then a motion to table them until a later date. The council will also be working to set a new meeting date to accommodate this change.

Other items on the agenda include setting dates of consultations and public hearings on the proposed Rolling Hills South Condominium and Carroll Park Apartments Urban Renewal plans. The master plan for Northeast Park and the layout for Kellan’s Kingdom and the future Miracle League fields will be presented and possibly adopted as well as a report of the pickleball court bids.

And they will be looking ahead to the city’s 150th birthday celebration.

The Monday, July 23 meeting is open to the public and will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the temporary library site in the former Wal-Mart on West Highway 30 for a walk through of the space. The meeting will then be moved to the second-floor council chambers at City Hall. A full agenda and packet of meeting materials can be found by following the link included below.
