Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, just a little over one week away now, and following that will be the kick-off to the Christmas season. Executive Director of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce, Shannon Landauer, says they will be bringing back an annual tradition to begin the celebration on Friday, Nov. 23.
That kick-off then continues with a focus on our local retailers. Landauer says they want to shine a light on Small Business Saturday instead of the day prior.
The Chamber will be supporting those local businesses again this year through their #ChooseCarroll marketing campaign.
The first observance of Small Business Saturday was in 2010, sponsored in large part by American Express. Since that time, it has become a way to encourage shoppers to support their local economy by patronizing the actual brick and mortar stores in their communities; thereby, supporting their friends and neighbors in the effort.
