Carroll Chamber and Cattlemen’s Ag Scholarship Applications Available To Area Students

The Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association has joined forces for the past 30 years with the Carroll Chamber of Commerce to offer a scholarship opportunity to area students who are pursuing an education in agriculture. “Agriculture is vitally important to our community and Carroll County,” says Sarah Foley, Program Director with the Chamber. “This scholarship is one way we can assist with students interested in pursuing an education and career in agriculture. Of course,” she adds, “our goal is that they’ll return to Carroll with that education and continue working to make Carroll County agriculture a successful and thriving industry.” Applications are now available from area guidance counselors, at the Carroll Chamber office and online at www.carrolliowa.com. To qualify, applicants must be planning to attend, or currently attending, a post-secondary school and majoring in a field related to agriculture. They must be residents of Carroll County but need not have attended a high school within the county. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, March 14 and the recipient will be announced in April. The scholarship is made possible through the previous donation of cattle that were sold as well as ongoing fundraisers to support the program. More information is available through the contact points detailed below.
