Bagley Man Sentenced To Probation On Felony Burglary Charges

A Bagley man was sentenced last week on third-degree burglary charges in Carroll County District Court. Thirty-year-old Jonathon Phillip Michael Kennedy was ordered to serve three years of probation with the Second Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. A five-year prison sentence and associated fines were suspended and a second-degree theft charge dropped in exchange for his guilty plea. As a condition of his probation, Kennedy must enter and complete a Residential Correctional Facility (RCF) program and will remain in custody at the Carroll County jail until a bed becomes available. The original sentence, if served, will run consecutive to unrelated sentences in Polk and Guthrie Counties. The charge stemmed from an incident on June 1, 2016 in which Kennedy entered a home in Coon Rapids and stole nearly $3,000 in property.
