The Sac City Police Department has just released details on a truck/bicycle accident that occurred late last week. At approximately 5:36 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, they received a report that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by Justin Carstens of Lake View, was eastbound in the 2800 block of Main Street, when he struck an eastbound bicycle, being ridden by Joshua Ackerman of Lytton. Witnesses did tell officers they saw the bicycle pull out into the roadway in front of the Carstens truck, and that there were no visible lights on the bike. Ackerman was transported to Loring Hospital for treatment of injuries by Sac County Emergency Medical Services. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
