Authorities Arrest Carroll Woman For Allegedly Stealing More Than $10,000 From Payday Lender

A woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a local payday lender has been arrested by the Carroll Police Department. According to court records, 23-year-old Natasha Ranae Warnke, of Carroll, turned herself into authorities Tuesday on one count of first-degree theft, a class C felony. Authorities allege Warnke stole more than $10,000 from the Carroll Check into Cash over two and half years, from April 25, 2016 to Jan. 18, 2018. The business became aware of the issue after an audit indicated varying amounts had gone missing over the course of her employment at the branch. Warnke is scheduled to make an initial appearance in District Court on Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Carroll County Courthouse. First-degree theft carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and a maximum of $10,000 in fines.
