Audubon County Sheriff’s Office Reports Two Arrests In Two Days

The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reports they have made two arrests in as many days earlier this week. At approximately 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, 23-year-old Christopher Guthery, of Walnut, was taken into custody and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony, and an open container violation. He was released following an appearance before the magistrate. On Monday, 18-year-old Timothy Asmus, of Audubon, was arrested following a pursuit. Asmus fled from authorities before being apprehended around 9:10 p.m. He was transported to the Audubon County jail and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, eluding law enforcement, an aggravated misdemeanor, reckless driving and driving while suspended, both simple misdemeanors, and multiple traffic violations. The Audubon Police Department and Iowa State Patrol assisted in the pursuit.
