Audubon County Law Enforcement Arrests Council Bluffs Man Twice On Drug Charges Over Weekend

A Council Bluffs man was arrested twice on drug charges while in Audubon County over the three-day holiday weekend. According to the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Michael Gene Bland was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after K-9 Axel alerted to narcotics during a traffic stop at approximately 2:46 a.m. Sunday morning on Highway 71 near Exira. Bland was transported to the Audubon County jail and released after posting bond. As part of an investigation into suspected narcotics in the vehicle, K-9 Axel later located marijuana that Bland had attempted to hide during the stop. Bland was taken into custody a second time at approximately 7:25 p.m. Monday. He was taken to the Audubon County jail, where he was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, interference with official acts, carrying weapons and littering. Bland remains in custody awaiting an appearance before the magistrate.
