A series of thefts over the course of several months was reported to the Jefferson Police Department by their local Hy-Vee. On Sunday, March 31, 16 separate instances of theft were reported, involving the same suspect removing food and alcohol products from the Washington Street store. The reported thefts were said to have occurred from Jan. 1 through March 1 of this year. The reporting officer has since requested an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Jill Ranae Kanealy of Grand Junction on 16 counts of fifth-degree theft, all simple misdemeanors.
