Are You Eating Enough To Lose Weight?

We are only into the second month of the new year, and resolutions are likely falling to the wayside for many individuals already. One of the questions Maurine Thieszen, program facilitator at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City, is asking is if people are really eating enough for their weight loss program. Stewart Memorial will soon be starting a new program with that title, “Are You Eating Enough to Lose Weight,” based on the popular New York Times bestseller, “The Full Plate Diet.” This program is designed to help participants discover how to enjoy a full plate of food and still lose weight. The key, Thieszen says, is to eat more foods that are naturally rich in fiber because they are low in calories and keep you feeling full for hours. According to co-author, Dr. Diana Fleming, most people don’t have as much of a problem figuring out how to lose weight quickly, but rather one of how to keep it off long term. This program is designed to help people stop the cycle of loss and gain and keep the weight off for good. It will provide a simple eating plan, tips to rev up your metabolism, and help attendees discover 10 weight loss tools used by successful losers. An informational session to learn more about the upcoming program will be held Thursday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. in the private dining room at Stewart Memorial. For more information or to register, contact Thieszen at 712-464-4249 or email her at mthieszen@stewartmemoral.org.
