Two area school districts began their U.S. Department of Agriculture (UDSA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) today (Monday). South Central Calhoun (SCC) will serve their meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school in Lake City until June 29. Lunch is free for individuals under the age of 18, and adults 18 years old and up can eat for only $3.50. Ar-We-Va’s program is at the school building in Westside from June 4-8, June 18-22 and June 25-29. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. From June 5 to June 8, lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. The program moves to the United Church of Westside from June 11 to June 15 with breakfast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The last location is at the Arcadia Park Shelter House from June 18 to June 22 with lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The program is funded through the USDA to provide adequate nutrition to students while school is not in session for the summer break.
