90,000 Gallon Wastewater Discharge Ends Saturday In Manson

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reporting more than 90,000 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled into the East Cedar Creek near Manson over the weekend. On Saturday, city contractors were working to repair a pumping station and needed to drain the area in order to complete the repairs. An estimated 91,000 gallons of water was released before the work was finished Saturday night. The DNR will consider enforcement action against the city if deemed appropriate.
